Yuri Borisovich Pomerantsev (born February 11, 1923 , Kiev , Ukrainian SSR , USSR ) is a Soviet and Kazakh film and theater actor, director, public figure, deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR. Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan ( 2018 ), People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR ( 1961 ) [1] .

Biography
He was born in the family of a responsible employee of Karagandashakhtstroy, who was repressed in 1938 , after which the family had to move to Moscow. After mobilization in the ranks of the Red Army in October 1941, he went to Kazan for a short training course for a fighter, receiving the rank of corporal.
Member of the Great Patriotic War [2] : in February-March 1942 - assistant commander of the 269th separate ski battalion of the 1st shock army ( North-Western Front ). Participated in the Demian operation , during which March 11, 1942 was seriously wounded and until May 1942 was in the hospital in the city of Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod ).
After prolonged treatment in 1943, he arrived in Alma-Ata , where his mother was evacuated. Here he began his acting career, although he did not receive a special education.
In 1943-1945, the artist of the choir of the Alma-Ata Opera and Ballet Theater. Abay , in 1945-1953 - actor of the theater for children and youth of Kazakhstan , in 1953-1954 - actor of the Saratov Youth Theater [1] . Since 1954, in the Alma-Ata Russian Drama Theater .
The master of stage reincarnation, vivid and convincing characteristics, Yu. Pomerantsev created his best images on the stage of this theater. Actively collaborates with Kazakh radio and television. Chairman of the Republican Commission on cultural and patronage work in the village. For several years he headed the drama studio at the theater. He was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR.
