Football in Moldova

The Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic was part of the USSR until 1991, from 1947 to 1955, Chisinau Dynamo and Petrel played in Class B of the USSR Championship. From 1956 to 1964, as well as in 1974, “Petrel” (later “Moldova” and “Nistru”) played in the Premier League , the best achievement - 6th place in 1956. ^[1] As part of the "Petrel" shone such players as Yuri Korotkov , Mikhail Mukhortov , Vitaliy Vatskevich , Mikhail Potapov , Valentin Mirgorodsky .

Since 1991 , when Moldova gained independence, the country began the countdown of its own history of football. The National Football Federation takes part in all kinds of football competitions.

National Division

The football championship is the main football competition in Moldova . From 1945 to 1991, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the USSR . In 1990, the Moldavian Football Federation was created, and with it the National Division, the first Moldavian championship was held in 1992, today there are twelve teams participating in it. The Champion of Moldova falls into the 2nd qualification round of the Champions League . Teams that took 2nd and 3rd places, and the team that owns the national cup qualify for the Europa League . Teams that took 11th and 12th places will fly to Division “A” ( Mold. Divizia “A” ).

Moldova Football Division “A” is Moldova’s second football league, 16 teams are participating in it. The two best teams from the first league are transferred to the National Division , the teams that took 15th and 16th places fly to Division “B” .

Moldavian Football Division “B” is the third football league in Moldova , 32 teams participate in it in three groups: North ( Mold. Nord , 11 teams), Center ( Mold. Centru , 11 teams), South ( Mold. Sud , 10 teams )

The Moldavian Football Cup is one of the main football competitions in this country. The cup began in 1992 . The current owner of the cup is the Zimbru club. The winner of the tournament receives the right to play in the UEFA Europa League .

Moldavian Football Super Cup - Moldova football competition, consisting of one match, in which the Moldavian Cup winner and the Moldavian champion of the previous season play. In the event that the cup and the championship are won by one team, the Super Bowl will not be played. The Moldova Super Cup has been held since 2003 in the main arena of the Sheriff Sports Complex .

The Moldavian national football team is the national football team representing Moldova in international games. In fact, it was formed after the collapse of the USSR and played the first game against the Georgian national team on July 2, 1991 . ^[2] Did not participate in the final games of the World Championships and European Championships .

Moldavian Youth Football Team

The Moldavian youth football team represents Moldova at international football competitions for players no older than 21 years old. Never entered the final stage of the U-21 European Championships and did not participate in the Olympic Games. Players mainly represent the domestic clubs of the championship of Moldova.

In 2008, the President of the Moldavian Football Federation Pavel Cebanu said: there is no corruption in our football, our championship is clean ^[4] . However, on February 22, 2012, the Ethics Committee of the Moldavian Football Federation suspended the president of Sfintul Gheorghe club Valeriu Renita and the president and former head coach Sergiu Karaman on suspicion of involvement in organizing match-fixing matches in the Moldavian championship. Renita was suspended for five years and fined 15 thousand US dollars, and Karaman for two years and sentenced to a fine of 8 thousand dollars ^[5] . An investigation into the organization of contractual matches was launched on the basis of a statement by seven former Sfintul Gheorghe players: Ion Rymbu, Alexandra Vremya, Yevgeny Chelyadnik, Petro Ozhog, Mikhail Platike , Andrei Prepelice and Vyacheslav Posmak, who stated that Renita and Karaman asked the players to abandon the sports борьбы в играх с командами « Дачия », « Зимбру » и « Гагаузия » во второй части чемпионата Молдавии 2010/11 ^{[6] [7]} . В июне 2012 года футбольный арбитр Геннадий Сиденко заявил, что президент гидигиченского « Рапида » Виктор Остап предлагал ему взятку ^[11] .

13 сентября 2012 года сотрудники Центра по борьбе с экономическими преступлениями и коррупцией провели обыски в офисах четырёх клубов — «Зимбру», «Дачия», «Сфынтул Георге» и « Костулены » ^[12] . Данные коллективы подозреваются в организации договорных матчей, а также незаконной игре на тотализаторе. Внимание следователей привлекло несколько матчей с участием данных клубов в период с 2010 по 2012 годы, а также подозрительные ставки на тотализаторе, прибыль от которых составила около 100 тысяч евро. Молдавской федерации футбола был нанесён ущерб в 1 млн молдавских леев ^[13] . Под подозрения попали 48 матчей, проведенных с апреля 2011 года по май 2012 года в чемпионате и Кубке Молдавии, под следствие попали 23 игрока из восьми клубов ^[14] . В ходе обысков была изъята документация и компьютеры, также обыски были проведены у некоторых футболистов ^[12] .

Были возбуждены два уголовных дела, по пункту 5. ст. 190 Уголовного кодекса Республики Молдова «Мошенничество в особо крупных размерах» и пункту 3 ст. 327 «Злоупотребление властью или служебным положением в интересах организованной преступной группы или преступной организации». Также Центр по борьбе с экономическими преступлениями и коррупцией сообщил, что он проводит проверки по другим клубам страны. Представители четырёх клубов не признали своей вины ^[12] . Незадолго до этого Президент Молдавии Николае Тимофти встречался с Президентом УЕФА Мишелем Платини и заверил его, что правоохранительные органы Молдавии предпримут меры по искоренению коррупции в местном футболе ^[7] .

В феврале 2013 года Президент клуба «Сфынтул Георге» Валерий Реницэ заявил, что делегаты съезда Молдавской федерации футбола, на котором был избран президент Павел Чебану, были подкуплены. Размер взятки, по его словам составил эквивалент 400 долларов США ^[15] (на самом деле всем делегатам были вручены презенты от спонсоров и партнеров Федерации футбола, в том числе от оператора сотовой связи, предоставившей телефоны). В марте 2013 года « Олимпия » объявила о снятии с чемпионата Молдавии, дабы привлечь внимание к проблеме коррупции в молдавском футболе ^[16] . Однако в итоге она продолжила играть, а владелец "Олимпии" принес свои извинения за высказанные обвинения.

В августе 2013 года Национальным центром по борьбе с коррупцией были задержаны тренер Василий Мунжиу и журналист Сергей Беседин, которых обвинили в попытки сдать матча 4 августа между юношеским женскими сборными до 17 лет Молдавии и Латвии . По данным Национального центра по борьбе с коррупцией сборной Молдавии было предложено 100 тысяч леев (8 тысяч долларов США) ^{[17] [18]} . Информацию предоставила главный тренер юношеской сборной Молдавии до 17 лет Алина Стеценко ^[19] . Задержанным грозил срок до 7 лет ^[20] . Спустя год Мунжиу был пожизненно отстранён УЕФА от футбола ^[21] .

В апреле 2014 года Президент кишинёвской «Дачии» обвинил арбитра Петра Стоянова в сдаче матчей и обещал предоставить видео-доказательства ^[22] , однако так не сделал этого.
