Content
History
The club was founded in 2007 in the city of Craiova , through the merger of the clubs "Gas Methane Podari" and "CFR Craiova" and was named "Gas Methane Craiova" . In 2011, the club moved to Drobeta-Turnu Severin and became known as the “Methane Gas Drobeta-Turnu Severin” . In June 2012, the club changed its name to “Turnu Severin”. Since its inception, the team began to play in League III , the third strongest division in Romania, and in the second year of its existence, becoming the winner in its zone, achieved a promotion in the class. Only three years later, Turnu Severin, having taken third place in League II , won the right to make his debut in the top Romanian division in the 2012/13 season.
