Rock paintings in Kondoa - rock paintings in cave walls in Kondoa, Tanzania . Caves with them are located in the hills on the western edge of the East African Rift Valley . The drawings depict people, animals and hunting scenes, and all living creatures on them look unnaturally elongated.

Drawings were discovered by Louis Leakey in the 1930s; To date, several hundred drawings have been found, but many of them have not yet been properly studied. Initially, their age was estimated at several thousand years, but now it is believed that they were created about 1,500 years ago.
In 2006, the rock paintings in Kondoa were listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site; tourists can visit the caves with them, but only by agreement with the Tanzanian Department of Antiquities.
