Frédéric Herpoel ( born Frédéric Herpoel ; born August 16, 1974 in Mons ) is a Belgian footballer who played as a goalkeeper . He played for the national team of Belgium .

Career

Frederick Herpool began playing football at the age of 7 at the club “S. K. Le Havre. " In 1988, he moved to Anderlecht , but in just a few seasons in the first team of the Brussels club he played only 4 matches.

In 1997, Herpool signed a contract with Gent and for ten years was the main goalkeeper of the club, having played more than 300 matches in the championship of Belgium. On his account 2 goals scored in the national championship. In the 2003/04 season, he was recognized as the best goalkeeper in Belgium. In 2006, together with the club, he won the Intertoto Cup .

In the last three seasons of his career, Herpool has played for a club from his hometown, Mons , who also played in the top division of Belgium .

International Career

In 1994-1995, Frederick Herpool played for the youth national team of the country , spent 11 matches.

Since 1999, he was regularly called up to the national team (he has 39 calls), but he went on the field in only 7 matches. Herpul's first match in the Belgian national team was a friendly game with the Netherlands (5: 5) on September 4, 1999. Of her 7 matches, only in one did Herpul play all 90 minutes (April 17, 2002 against Slovakia - 1: 1).

As part of the Belgian national team, Frederic Herpool participated in the final tournaments of the European Championship 2000 and World Championship 2002 , but did not enter the field in these tournaments. In 2005, he decided to end his career in the national team.
