The origin and history of the genus
The noble Tatar Oslan-Chelebi-Murza left the horde to Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy , was baptized with the name of Procopius (1389) and married Maria Zotovna Zhitova , whose father was a steward at the court of the Grand Duke. From this marriage they had five sons, of whom Yakov Kremenetsky was the founder of the Zhdanovs [2] . Through his other sons, the Oslan- Murza was the ancestor of the Arsenyev , Rtishchev , Somov Pavlovs, Isupovs and others. His descendant in the VIIth generation Dimitri Yakovlevich Kremenetsky , nicknamed Zhdan , was the founder of the Zhdanovs. His grandson Fyodor Mikhailovich Zhdanov received a patrimony ( 1615 ) for the Moscow siege seat. The oprichnik of Ivan the Terrible (1573) was listed as Timofey Zhdanov [3] .
When submitting documents in 1686, the Zhdanov genealogical list was provided for entering the family in the Velvet Book [4] .
The family of Zhdanov was included in the VI part of the noble genealogical book of the Tula, Moscow [5] and Kursk gubernias.
Zhdan Ivanovich's offspring of the estates (1622) were included in the sixth part of the genealogical book of the Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga provinces [6] .
Other genera Zhdanov, a total of 28, were of later origin.
