Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, the canton residents cast in the 1st round of Marine Le Pen 27.9% of the vote against 25.8% of Francois Hollande and 24.4% of Nicolas Sarkozy , in the 2nd round, Hollande won, receiving 51.8% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 27.1%, Segolen Royal - 24.6%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 52.1%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 3rd constituency of the Somme department , the canton residents supported the incumbent deputy, candidate of the right Union for the popular movement, Jerome Bignon, who won 33.3% of the vote in the 1st round and 51.4% in 2nd round. In the 2010 regional elections, the list of “rightists” won in the 1st round, collecting 25.8% of the vote against 23.9% of the list of socialists and 14.9% of the National Front. In the 2nd round, the “left list” with the participation of socialists and “green” led by the President of the Picardy Regional Council, Claude Zheverk received 33.0% of the vote, the “right” list led by Mayor Beauvais Caroline Cayeu took second place with 36.8 %, and the National Front with 20.6% finished third.
