Freedom, Frantisek

Frantisek Svoboda began his career at the Rapid Club from the Prague region of Vinohrady . From there, in 1926, he transferred to Slavia . Speaking for this club, the football player 8 times became the champion of Czechoslovakia , once won the Mitropa Cup . In 1935, he became the top scorer of the championship, scoring 27 goals ^[2] . And just for “Slavia” Freedom 101 times hit the gates of the opposing teams.

In 1930, Liberty almost moved to the camp of the main rival of Slavia, the Sparta club: Frantisek drew up a contract with this club in writing that, without renewing the contract with Slavia, he would transfer to the camp of Sparta, if that agrees to pay him 100 thousand crowns . This document also contained a clause that if the transaction does not take place, the club will pay him 50 thousand crowns. The transaction did not take place, however, the payment of a penalty to the player was also not made.

In the Czechoslovakian national team, Freedom made his debut on June 6, 1926 in a match with the Hungarian team , in which his team lost 1: 2, and Frantisek came on as a substitute at the 46th minute of the meeting instead of Otto Fleischmann ^[3] . And in his second match, on January 2, 1927, he scored two goals against the Belgian National Team , and his team won 3-2 ^[4] . In 1934, he rode in the national team to the World Cup , where Czechoslovakians took second place, and Liberty himself scored 1 goal in the tournament against Switzerland ^[5] in three matches. Frantisek spent the last match for the national team on May 15, 1937 with Scotland ^[6] . In total, he spent 43 matches for the national team and scored 22 goals.
