Emergenza

Emergenza is a music marathon that takes place in 34 countries of the world: hundreds of thousands of musicians play live music at thousands of concerts. It is the largest international music festival for independent bands. The festival takes place in all major cities of Western Europe and North America. Groups of any stylistic orientation, performing both their own works and covers, can take part in it. This musical marathon consists of several prestigious international stages. It takes place within the framework of the 30,000th Taubertal Open-Air ( Germany ). Russia has held qualifying rounds since 2009. At the moment - the largest multi-format competition for independent music bands in Russia. Participation is free.

Timeline

  • 1991 - the idea originated in Italy . A group of musicians gathered together.
  • 1992 - the very first Emergenza festival gathered 245 people. Five months later, the second - 3,000 people.
  • 1993 - the release of the first compilation album, consisting of both their studio recordings and live recordings. Over the next 10 years, the Emergenza festival released 54 compilations.
  • 1995 - Emergenza logo appeared.
  • 1996 - the first festival outside Italy in the club Gibus ( Paris ). 113 groups were announced there and 233 concerts were held (instead of the planned seven).
  • 1997 - the festival in London Astoria 2500 people attended the first pan-European final of Emergenza.
  • 1998 - the most prestigious clubs began to invite the festival to themselves.
  • 2001 - The festival crosses the Atlantic from Paris to Montreal . The Canadian province of Quebec was the first stop on the way of the festival in North America .
  • 2002 - Five North American cities embarked on Emergenza.
  • 2003 - more than 700 bands participated in 190 concerts of the first Emergenza season in the USA .
  • 2004 - The number of participating musicians in the United States increased to 2,876, adding to 16,000 participants in Europe and Canada.
  • 2005 - the number of cities in the festival in North America increased to 70, 3000 concerts were held. More than 9,000 groups participated in the festival worldwide.
  • 2006 - the festival came to Australia : the first cities were Sydney , Melbourne and Adelaide . In the same year, Emergenza was held in Japan , only Tokyo in the festival was attended by more than 200 groups.
  • 2008 - 2012 - Emergenza falls into Eastern Europe: the Czech Republic , Slovakia and Russia . In Australia, the festival extends to the west: a new city - Perth . Emergenza takes place in Auckland ( New Zealand ). Since 2011, Belarus has been participating in the festival as part of its representation in Russia .

Basic Principles

  • only live musicians can take part in the festival;
  • all participants must be on an equal footing;
  • each group has 30 minutes to speak;
  • in the first rounds, the winners are chosen by the spectators directly at the concert, then (participants of the regional and national finals), the spectators and the jury, and the participants of the last round (the world final) are determined by the jury.
