Description

They were found in nests and on the body of single wasps of the genus Allodynerus ( Eumeninae ), which have specialized structures for carrying ticks ( acarinarium ) on the scutellum of the chest , propodeum, and 1st tergite of the abdomen. Species of the genus Ensliniella have 6 developmental stages: egg, larva, protonymph, deutonymph, tritonimph and imago (Klompen et al., 1987). Most species are known only for the phoretic deutrophs (whose length is about 0.2 mm) [1] . It was found in the wasp species Allodynerus delphinalis that the mites Ensliniella parasitica parasitizing on these pill wasps protect their larvae from other parasites, such as the riders Melittobia acasta ( Eulophidae ) [2] [3] .

Systematics

7 types. The genus Ensliniella was established in 1925 for a species found in Germany. In 1941 A.A. Zakhvatkin described the second species of the genus from Belarus and Ukraine, in 1960 2 species from North Africa ( Egypt , Morocco ) were described, and in 1995 another 2 species were discovered in Turkey and Croatia. In 1942, another species was described ( E. trisetosa Cooreman, 1942 ) [4] , which later (Cooreman, 1954) [5] was isolated into a separate monotypic genus Kennethiella . Initially, the genus Ensliniella stood out in the independent family Ensliniellidae , now included in the composition of Winterschmidtiidae [1] [6] .
