The Bulgarian hussar regiment is a cavalry unit that existed in the Russian imperial army in 1759-1783.

Content
History
It was created on March 9, 1759 in New Serbia by Major General I.S. Horvath . July 26, 1762 due to lack of personnel attached to the Macedonian hussar regiment [1] .
On December 24, 1776, among the nine regiments [2] created on the territory of the Azov and Novorossiysk provinces to protect the southern borders in connection with the abolition of the Zaporizhzhya Sich , a new settlement of the Bulgarian Hussar Regiment was composed of six squadrons from the frame of the eliminated cavalry units.
June 28, 1783 turned to the formation of the Olviopol Hussar Regiment
Uniforms
After reconstructing the regiment in 1776, the following uniforms were put on (the same for all field and settled hussar regiments): black mentics with yellow cords, white epanchies , black shakos with yellow braid, black shabraki with yellow lining, black belts with yellow interceptions, black sashes , copper buttons. The officers relied on ceremonial yellow boots. Individual for the regiment was the brown coloring of trousers ("chakshirs") and dolomani ("dulam"). The latter also had white cuffs and yellow laces [3] .
Coat of Arms
In 1776 the coat of arms of the regiment was approved: “A shield with a silver stripe, diagonally divided into two parts; of them, in the upper, green, three golden crosses are depicted, and in the lower, red - three silver moon. ”
