The Tara Half Marathon (Tara District Open Championship on the half marathon, dedicated to the Day of the workers of the oil and gas industry) is an annual running competition in the city of Tara . Conducted since 2004.

Types of competitions
- Race at a distance of 600 m for children of preschool age.
- Race 2014 m (mass race) - everyone is allowed.
- The race for the distance of 21 km 100 m (half marathon) - from 15 years and older.
- Ekyden at a distance of 21 km 100 m (relay) - from 15 years and older. The team consists of 6 people (4 men + 2 women).
History
The first Tara Half Marathon was held on the day of the 410th anniversary of the city - July 31, 2004. In Tara came lovers of running from Omsk and districts of the region. At the start of the first championship out 138 participants. Over time, the number of participants increased, already in 2007, 2249 people started at the start, and in 2011 - 3139 participants. The organization of this sports festival contributed to the promotion of sports and a healthy lifestyle. Immediately after the first Tara half-marathon in the city, the Pulse running club was organized under the guidance of coach Alexander Utkin.
