Univision (pronounced Univision - from the Spanish "united television", Univisión ) - together with its subsidiary UniMás, the largest Spanish-speaking telecommunications company in the USA , and the fifth largest in the country, after ( Fox , ABC , NBC and CBS ). The main competitor in the Spanish-speaking segment of television viewers is Telemundo . A significant part of the channel’s production is produced in the USA (news releases, talk shows , entertainment programs); TV shows are mainly purchased in Latin America . Channel headquarters are located in the cities of Miami and Los Angeles .

History
As the first full-fledged Spanish-speaking national television channel, Univision was formed in the United States by the mid -90s on the basis of regional television and radio stations, primarily the Spanish radio in San Antonio , Texas .
Audience
The main audience of the channel is Hispanic in the United States , with over 45 million people (more than 15% of the country's population), as well as Puerto Rico residents (4 million people) ( 2007 estimate)
Criticism
Commercial and Professional Success
The success of the channel is based largely on the rapid growth in the number of Hispanics, primarily Mexicans in the United States. The prime prime time product, attracting millions of viewers, is the famous Mexican series ( telenovelas ).
In 2003 and 2004, the channel received the exclusive right to show the Eurovision song contest in the USA.
