Currently, it is in a dilapidated state, only the northern wall, the eastern part of the southern wall and the eastern supporting arch of the dome have been preserved. It is one of the earliest and best examples of church buildings such as a domed hall. Built in the late VI - early VII century (the exact date is unknown). It has 15.7 meters in width and 30.4 meters in length, the size of the prayer hall, respectively - 10.3 m in width and 23.8 m in length.
In the center of the lower part of the northern facade is an arch-shaped front door. Just above, on the right and left sides, there are three windows of the same type and size. The motives for the decoration of the temple are diverse - both geometric and floral; there are also reliefs containing images of people, animals and birds.
The windows preserved on the facade of the south side are also covered with reliefs, which are exceptional examples of Armenian religious architecture of the early Middle Ages. The Mother of God , Christ , the apostles are depicted. There are also secular reliefs, one of which shows a horseman striking an arrow with a wounded beast, and the name of the horseman, Manuel Amatuni, is marked. To the right of this relief there is also another image - a man fighting a lion with a spear, which in all probability can be identified with the son of Manuel Amatuni - Saak Amatuni.
