Geographical position
The city is located in the eastern part of the province, in the northern part of the island of Laut , on the coast of the Makassar Strait . The absolute height is 0 meters above sea level [1] .
Kotabaru is located approximately 178 kilometers east-northeast (ENE) from Banjarmasin , the provincial capital. Four kilometers south of the city is the airport ( ICAO : WAOK) [1] .
