Wilhelmins ( German: Wilhelminer ) - a noble Bavarian family of the 9th century. The family was elevated in the middle of the 9th century by the efforts of the brothers William II and Engelshalk I, children of the founder of the dynasty of William I. The family owned the Pannonian mark until 871, but their rights to these lands provoked a series of disputes, one of which resulted in the Wilhelm War , against the Aribonids . In this dispute, Wilhelminov was supported by Arnulf of Carinthia , and Aribonidov was supported by Svyatopolk I of Moravia .
The family regained some of its lost influence when Arnulf became king in 887. However, in 893, the Bavarian aristocracy blinded Engelschalk II without royal permission. In subsequent years, the rest of the family fled to Moravia and soon disappeared from the pages of history.
