Mexico Open 2007 - the 14th draw of the annual professional tennis tournament for men and women, held in the Mexican city of Acapulco and is part of the ATP tour as part of the international gold series and the WTA tour as part of a series of competitions of the 3rd category .

In 2007, the tournament was held from February 26 to March 3 . The competition ended the February Latin American series of clay tournaments, located in the calendar after the Australian Open .

General Information
Juan Carlos Ferrero (No. 27 in the world at the time) became the first sowing number in the men's single tournament, but the Spaniard could not confirm his status, reaching only the semi-finals. In his absence, the title went to the fourth seeded Juan Ignacio Celje , who defeated the eighth racket of the Carlos Moyá competition in the final. The strongest unseen tennis players lost in the second round. Last year's champion, Louis Orna , defended his title, but was unable to finish the first round game.
In the men's doubles competition, seed teams were far less successful: only the seed leaders, Pavel Vizner / Lukas Dlougi , were able to win more than one match in the tournament. The Czechs, as a result, reached the final, where, however, only two games from Argentinian Martin Vassallo Arguello and Italian Potito Starace were able to take. For the latter, this title was the debut in the competitions of the main tour of the association. Last year's champions - Leoš Fridl and Frantisek Čermak - did not defend their title, but Leoš (together with Michael Kohlmann ) took part in the tournament and went round.
The first sowing number in the women's single tournament was Marion Bartoli (No. 25 in the world at the time), but the French player failed to confirm her status, having lost already in the second round. In her absence, the tournament came down to the match of the fifth seeded Flavia Pennetta and the unseen Emily Lua , where the Frenchwoman was stronger, having registered her victory in the two games. Last year's champion, Anna-Lena Grönefeld , did not defend her title.
Lua got to the title match and doubles, but there their alliance with Victoria Pratt , sown second at the competition, could not cope with the unserified team of Lourdes Dominges Lino / Arancia Parra Santonha , taking from the Spaniards only six games. Last year's champions - Anna-Lena Grönefeld and Megan Shaughnessy - did not defend their title.
