George III ( Georgian გიორგი III ,? - 1639 ) - king of Imereti ( 1605 - 1639 ), the youngest son of Tsarevich Konstantin (d. 1587 ) and brother of the Imereti king Rostom .

Biography
In 1605, after the death of his half-brother, the Imereti king Rostom, who did not leave offspring, George was seated on the royal throne under the name of George III. In 1615, George III granted refuge to the Kakheti and Kartlian kings, expelled from their possessions by the Persian Shah Abbas the Great .
In 1618, the Imereti king George III married his eldest son Alexander to the daughter of Prince Mamia Gurieli . But two years later, Tsarevich Alexander accused his wife of treason and sent her to his father. In 1621, the princes Mamia Gurieli and Levan Dadiani entered into an alliance treaty directed against Imereti .
In 1623, the Imereti king George III gathered an army and marched against the Mingrelian prince Levan Dadiani . In the battle of Gochouri, George was defeated by Dadiani . Megrelian prince Levan Dadiani captured many nobles and took rich prey.
In 1629, the Imereti king George III married his son Alexander to Darejan, the daughter of the king of Kakheti, Teymuraz I. Then, during the war with Prince Levan Dadiani, the Imereti king George III was captured and taken to Odishi .
