Djibrail Kassab was born on August 4, 1938 in Iraq . On January 19, 1961 he was ordained a priest. On October 24, 1995, Pope John Paul II appointed Djibrail Kassab as Archbishop of Basra. On May 5, 1996, Djibrail Kassab was ordained a bishop. On October 21, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Djibrail Kassab as bishop of the diocese of St. Thomas in Sydney.
