Biography

In 1990, he graduated from nine classes of secondary school No. 1 in the village of Mikhailovka in the Zaporizhzhya Region, after which he entered the Mikhailovsky Higher Vocational Technical School No. 52.

In 1993, he was called up for military service in the ranks of the armed forces. Demobilized in 1995.

From 1995 to 2000 he carried obedience at the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mikhailovka Zaporizhzhya region .

In 2000-2004 he studied at the Kiev Theological Seminary .

In 2004 he was enrolled in the correspondence department at the Chernivtsi Pedagogical Theological Institute , which he graduated in 2006.

On March 16, 2008, Bishop Elisey (Ivanov) of Berdyansk and Primorsky was ordained a deacon .

On March 17 of the same year, he was appointed press secretary of the Berdyansk diocese .

On March 30 of the same year, Archbishop of Rivne and Ostroh Bartholomew (Vashchuk) was ordained a presbyter .

On April 5 of the same year he was appointed clergyman of the Church of the Nativity of the city of Berdyansk, and on April 12th he was appointed clergyman of the church of the Berdyansk New Martyrs in Berdyansk.

On May 4 of the same year, he was appointed secretary of the Berdyansk diocese while retaining the position of its press secretary. On August 25, 2012, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, he was elected bishop of Ascension and May Day [2] . Soon he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite .

On August 27, 2012, in the Church of All Saints of the Metropolitan St. Panteleimon Convent in Feofania, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Vladimir headed the designation of Archimandrite Alexy to Bishop of Voznesensky and Pervomaisky [3] .

September 4, 2012 in the cathedral church of the Panteleimon Convent in Feofania in Kiev, was ordained bishop of Voznesensky and Pervomaisky. The consecration was performed: Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Vladimir (Sabodan) , Metropolitan of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl Pavel (Swan) , Metropolitan of Nikolaev and Ochakov Pitirim (Starinsky) , Archbishop of Boryspil Anthony (Pakanich) , Archbishop Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Archbishop of Vishnevsky and Dishnevko Yagotinsky Seraphim (Demyanov) , Archbishop Gorodnitsky Alexander (Nesterchuk) , Bishop Vasilkovsky Panteleimon (Povoroznyuk) , Bishop of Irpen Clement (Vecherya) , Bishop of Berdyansk and Primorsky Ephraim (Yarinko) , Bishop Bor Odyansky Barsanuphius (Joiner) and Bishop of Fastovsky Damian (Davydov) [4] .

June 10, 2015 at the Kiev Theological Academy defended his thesis "History of the Kiev diocese in the context of church-state relations (1944-1990)." The supervisor of the dissertation of the ruling bishop was Candidate of Historical Sciences Igor Khronenko [5] .
