Habitat and habitat

Eschscholzia hypecoides is endemic to California , where it is found on and around San Benito County . In this regard, it is also called " San Benito poppy " ( English San Benito poppy ). It grows in wooded areas, on grassy slopes and in chaparral .

Description

Annual herb, basal and stem leaves, segmented, with obtuse lobes. The stem is erect, 5-30 cm high. A flower with yellow petals, sometimes with orange bases, 10-20 mm. The fruit is a box of 3–7 cm, the seeds are small brown mesh from spherical to elliptical, 1.0–1.3 mm. Karyotype : 2n = 12. [2]
