Biography

The second son of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General of Prince Alexei Alekseevich Dolgorukov from a marriage with a merchant's daughter Margarita Ivanovna Apaishchikova. Brother of the Vilnius Governor Sergei Dolgorukov .

The landowner of the Sergach district of the Nizhny Novgorod province (425 souls) also owned the estate in the Novosilsky district of the Tula province [1] .

In 1822 he graduated from the Imperial Moscow University , Department of Moral and Political Sciences, with the title of full student. In 1823 he received a Ph.D. in moral and political sciences and on August 17, 1823 he entered the staff of the Office of the Moscow Military Governor-General. In 1824-1825 he was a member of the Senate Commission, which audited the Vyatka province. From November 16, 1824 - a titular adviser , from April 3, 1825 - a junk chamber .

Since 1825 - Advisor to the Moscow Chamber of the Criminal Court, participated in audits of the Voronezh and Kursk provinces.

In 1828 he was appointed head of the 1st branch of the Department of State Property of the Ministry of Finance.

In 1829-1834 he served as an official of the 2nd branch of His Imperial Majesty’s Chancellery. From November 16, 1828 he was a college assessor, from March 17, 1829 he was a court adviser, and from April 4, 1830 he was a chamberlain . Since January 29, 1833 - a college adviser in the Department of the Governing Senate, worked on the codification of laws.

November 8, 1835 dismissed at the request of the service. Since 1837, the honorary caretaker of the Balakhna district school of the Nizhny Novgorod province.

In 1838–40 - the governor of Vilna , then - Olonets (1851-1853) and Voronezh (1853-1857) governor.

In 1853, organized in Voronezh the first exhibition of rural works of five chernozem provinces: Voronezh, Oryol, Ryazan, Tambov and Tula [2] .

Promoted to the rank of Privy Advisor on 01/06/1857 and then appointed senator. He was buried in the cemetery of the Donskoy Monastery in Moscow (plot 3, photo of the grave ).

Wife (from June 1829) - Elizaveta Petrovna Davydova (09/27/1805 - 09/18/1878), daughter of Pyotr Lvovich Davydov from her marriage to Natalia Vladimirovna Orlova. She was brought up by the grandfather of Count V. G. Orlov in the estate of Otrad and was inseparable from him until his marriage. According to a contemporary, there was an extremely educated woman, she knew several languages ​​perfectly and bore the imprint of a noble lady in her entire person [3] . She was buried next to her husband in the Donskoy Monastery (on the tombstone they are named as Dolgoruky, not Dolgorukov). Children:

  • Natalya (03/10/1830 - 07/08/1902), married to the real secret adviser V.S. Arsenyev , their son S.V. Arsenyev ;
  • Alexei (10.11.1833-15.02.1888), was married with his first marriage to Princess Olga Petrovna Trubetskoy (1840-1875; daughter of P.I. Trubetskoy ), and her second marriage (from 04.04.1877) to Ekaterina Petrovna Davydova (1854-1922) , the granddaughter of the Decembrists V. L. Davydov and S. P. Trubetskoy .
