Biography
Joseph Emmanuel Thomas was born on August 8, 1852 in Iraq . After studying at a Jesuit seminary in Beirut, he was ordained a priest on July 10, 1879 .
On September 4, 1890, Joseph Emmanuel Thomas was appointed bishop of Siirt. July 24, 1892 was ordained a bishop. On July 9, 1900, the Holy Synod of the Chaldean Catholic Church elected Joseph Emmanuel Thomas as the Patriarch of Babylon of Chaldeans . He took the name of Joseph VI Emmanuel II.
He died on July 21, 1947 in Mosul.
