History
When the Heilongjiang Province began the transition from a military to a civilian system in 1905, the Heishui Commissariat (黑水 厅) was established in these places. In 1908, the commissariat was elevated to the status of a council, and since this was the main government of Heilongjiang province (the governor's residence was here), it was called the Longjiang government (龙江 府); governing bodies were located in Qiqihar. After the Xinhai revolution , a new management system was introduced in China, and in 1913 the Longjiang government was transformed into Longjiang County.
In June 1946, the eastern part of the county was separated into a separate Lundong county (龙 东 县), but in April 1948 it was disbanded, and the territory returned to the Longjiang county. In 1956, Jingxing County (景 星 县) was annexed to Longjiang County.
Since August 1958, Longjiang County was part of the Nenjiang Special Region (嫩江 专区, later the Nenjiang District (嫩江 地区)), and when it was temporarily liquidated in 1960-1961, it was directly subordinate to Qiqihar. In October 1958, the Daursky National Region, as well as the villages of Anansi, Fulaerji, Yushu and Dahudyan were transferred from the composition of Longjiang County to the jurisdiction of Qiqihar; under the jurisdiction of the Nenjiang Special Region is the village of Dianjishan.
When the Nenjiang District was disbanded in 1985, Longjiang became a county of Qiqihar City District.
