Biography

From the old princely family of Obolensky . The son of the Moscow Vice-Governor of Prince Vasily Vasilyevich Obolensky (1846-1890) and Princess Maria Alekseevny, born Dolgorukova (1851-1930).

He graduated from the Lyceum Tsarevich Nicholas (1895) and the law faculty of Moscow University (1898) - candidate of law.

Entered the service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs , was an official of special assignments under the Vilna governor-general . In 1903 he was transferred to the post of secretary of the Department of Common Affairs, in 1906 he was appointed official of special assignments under the Minister of the Interior Stolypin .

He was engaged in social activities: with the emergence of the Union on October 17, he became one of its members, was the secretary of the city council and a member of the Central Committee of the party, in 1906 he was elected a member of the St. Petersburg City Council, becoming a member of the progressive party. Participated in the restoration of the Ferapontov Monastery . He was awarded the Order of St. Anne 2 nd degree and the Order of St. Stanislav 2 nd degree.

After the revolution he emigrated to Finland, in 1939 he moved to Sweden. He was chairman of the Society for Assistance to Russian Refugees, along with his wife became one of the founders of the Society of Zealots of Russian antiquity. Wrote the book "My memories and reflections."

He died in 1969 in Stockholm . He was married to Olga Alekseevna Prozorova, the daughter of the entrepreneur A. Ya. Prozorov . Both are buried in the Forest Cemetery in Stockholm [1] .
