Home-based education ( home- schooling, homework . Home-based education, homework ) is a method of obtaining education that involves the study of general subjects outside the school (at home, in educational centers). Each year, students must undergo mandatory certification at school (interim), and must also pass final certification [1] .
Home schooling is the oldest form of education, which appeared long before the first schools. For many centuries, home schooling has been the only way to get an education. Initially, this form was available only to wealthy families who had time to educate their own children or to hire a teacher. However, the transfer of the basic skills of housekeeping and the training of crafts can be attributed to home schooling.

Home Education in Russia
In pre-Petrine Russia , only Russian teachers could provide education, and foreigners were not allowed to study. The children studied the literacy according to church books ( Book of Hours , Psalter , Gospel ).
A new stage in the development of home schooling in Russia began with the accession of Peter I and the formation of secular culture in the state. However, mainly children belonging to the aristocratic or merchant class could receive an education.
In modern Russia, in accordance with the law “On Education in the Russian Federation”, two forms of obtaining education outside the school are provided for: family education and self-education [2] .
