Foundation and Development
It was founded at the beginning of the 20th century.
In 2001, in the village of Ira, the Marfo-Mariinsky monastery of mercy was created for the elderly, homeless, children of all ages. The monastery was created following the example of the monastery of the Holy Grand Duchess Elizabeth in Moscow.
In 2001, the Archbishop of Ufa and Sterlitamak Nikon (Vasyukov) consecrated the restored St. Sophia Church in the monastery.
The monastery includes the Intercession Church (architect M.E. Priemyshev ) built in 1909-1914 at the expense of Moscow manufacturer Pavel Nikolayevich Susokolov, who came to Kumis treatment for asthma in the village of Ira, and his sister Sofia.
On June 11, 2006, on the feast of the Holy Trinity in the Martha-Mariinsky Convent of the Kumertau District of the Ufa Diocese, the Archbishop of Ufa and Sterlitamak Nikon performed the canonization in the face of the locally revered saints the Monk Zosima Yannatskaya .
