Geographical position
The city is located in the eastern part of the governorate, on the right bank of the Tigris River, at an altitude of 182 meters above sea level [1] .
Kayyara is located approximately 56 kilometers southeast (SSE) from Mosul , the provincial capital, and 283 kilometers north-northwest of Baghdad , the country's capital.
Population
As of 2012, the city population is 13,822 people [2] [3] .
Transport
A small airport is located 2 km south of the city, and a military airfield ( ICAO : ORQW) [5] is located 5 km west.
