Gromova, Serafima Andreevna

Born in the village of Orlovka in the Bobrovsky district of the Voronezh province (now the Talovsky district of the Voronezh region ); according to other sources - in Vladimir ^[1] .

In 1941 she went to the draft board, carrying her girlfriends along. But they, the tenth graders, were not taken into combat formation, they were advised to grow up, gain experience. Without hesitation, they entered OSOAWIAHIM courses, in a special camp they learned the basics of first aid, studied the device of the rifle.

At the beginning of 1942, the rush of teenage girls was successful - they went into combat formation, donned tunics and overcoats - they were entrusted with fighting in the air defense forces of the 7th Air Defense Division. The first military baptismal post of the Air Force Inspection (Surveillance, Warning and Communication Troops), commanded by Gromov, was received in the area of ​​Latnaya junction station, west of Voronezh, on July 4 ^[2] .

After the defeat of the enemy near Stalingrad, joyful days of advancement began. VNOS posts followed in the ranks of the advancing, transmitting data on detected targets to the command posts of artillery and aviation regiments for the timely cover of their troops and important objects from the air.

The battle path of corporal Serafima Gromova ended in the city of Fastov west of Kiev. In August 1945, she was demobilized.

In September 1946 she appeared at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at the University of Saratov . After graduation (1951), Serafima Gromova was appointed to the position of master of the secret factory No. 92 of the city of Saratov . Serafima Andreevna became one of the promising specialists in electronic systems, which were equipped with the latest air defense and missile defense systems, aircraft systems.

Serafima Gromova was among the most proactive engineers, became a co-author of many rationalization proposals, even inventions. Her creative potential was noticed, evaluated and appointed as the head of the experimental workshop. At the launch of new production facilities in the "mailbox" Fryazino she was asked to lead the workshop. Then there was an interesting work in Minsk , where new models of military weapon systems were developed. When selecting personnel for the newly built Mikron plant in Zelenograd , she was assigned to lead the assembly shop. The veteran of labor was especially remembered for the stressful years when developing the devices and units of the Buran control systems. The flight of the “Buran” became a sensation and a great achievement of the Land of Soviets. Many scientists, designers, engineers, workers were awarded high government awards. And Seraphim Gromova was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.

Recently, she dealt with issues of military-patriotic education of children and youth, took an active part in events held by the administration and the municipality.

She died on September 16, 2013 at the 91st year of life ^[3] . She was buried in the Honor Alley of Zelenogradsk city cemetery .
