Physical Properties
Chromium (II) sulfate forms colorless crystals, soluble in water, and aqueous solutions are stable in the absence of oxygen .
Forms crystalline hydrates of the composition CrSO 4 • n H 2 O, where n = 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7.
Under normal conditions, CrSO 4 • 5H 2 O crystalline hydrate forms — blue crystals of triclinic syngony , cell parameters a = 0.724 nm, b = 1,094 nm, c = 0.601 nm, α = 125.32 °, β = 97.63 °, γ = 94.32 °.
