Biography
The son of Kashtelan of Sanotsky Heinrich Kamenetsky (1430-1488) and Katarina from Penezhki. He had brothers: Nicholas, Henry, Stanislav, Clemens, Martin and three sisters.
He served in the rank of captain in the Polish troops guarding the southeastern borders. In 1508, during the Russo-Lithuanian war (1507-1508), Martin Kamenetsky was appointed a subcommittee of sanotsky in a camp near Smolensk . In 1509, he participated in the military campaign of his brother, the great hetman of the crown, Nikolai Kamenetsky, to Bukovina against the Moldavian ruler Bogdan the Blind. In April 1512, Martin Kamenetsky participated and distinguished himself in the battle with the Crimean Tatars near Lopushn, where Konstantin Ostrozhsky and Nikolai Kamenetsky commanded the Lithuanian-Polish army. For his services he received a congratulatory letter from the Polish king and Grand Duke of Lithuania Sigismund the Old. In 1516, the governor of Podolsk, Martin Kamenetsky, along with Stanislav Lyantskoronsky and Ian Tvorovsky defeated the Crimean Tatar "chambula" between Terebovlya and Podgaitsy. In 1519, after the defeat of the Lithuanian-Polish army under the command of Konstantin Ostrozhsky and Stanislav Khodetsky in the battle with the Tatars near Sokal, Martin Kamenetsky was appointed commander on the southern Polish border, and placed troops between Buzhsky and Zalozhetsy. From April 17, 1520, as the crown crown hetman, Martin Kamenetsky led the defense of the southern borders in Podolia and in Russia. For military services, Martin Kamenetsky received possession from the Polish king Sigismund of the Old Estate in the Russian and Podolsk voivodeships. In 1516, Martin Kamenetsky founded his own castle in Zalozhtsy. Since April 1520, Martin Kamenetsky, appointed Crown Hetman, led the defense of the southern borders of the Kingdom of Poland.
He died in Krakow and is buried on Wawel .
