Randolph "Randy" Smith ( eng. Randolph "Randy" Smith , December 12, 1948 - June 4, 2009) is an American professional basketball player who set the NBA record for the number of consecutive games played. From 1972 to 1982, Smith participated in all the games of the regular season, setting a record of 906 consecutive games played (this record was later broken by AEC Green ).

Professional career
Randy Smith was selected in the 1971 NBA Draft in the 7th round with a total number 104. But already in the training camp he surprised everyone with his game and got into the club application for the upcoming season. In his debut season, he averaged 13.4 points per game. In subsequent seasons, his game improved more and more and by the end of the 1975/76 season he was included in the second national team of all NBA stars.
In 1978, Smith was selected to participate in the all-star game . Coming off the bench, he became the most productive player, gaining 27 points and was named the most valuable player of the match .
Smith is 7 years old playing for Braves, before the club moved and became known as San Diego Clippers. In the first year in San Diego, he averaged more than 20 points per game. In 1979, Smith was traded to Cleveland Cavaliers , where he was the team captain for two years. 1981 he spent in the " New York Knicks ", and later returned back to San Diego. In 1983, having played 15 games for Atlanta Hawks , he announced the end of his playing career [1] [2] .
