John Gollan ( born John Gollan ; 04/02/1911, Edinburgh - 09/05/1977) - British Communist activist, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Great Britain in 1956-1975.

Since 1927, a member of the CPV and the League of Communist Youth.
Since 1935, the Secretary General of the League of Communist Youth.
Since 1939, secretary of the North-East Anglia branch of the CPV.
In 1941-1947, the secretary of the Scottish branch of the CPV. In 1947-1949, the assistant secretary general of the CPV.
In 1949-1954, the assistant editor of the Daily Worker .
In 1954-1956, the national organizer of the CPV.
In 1956-1975, the Secretary General of the CPV. On March 9, 1975, he resigned for health reasons [4] ( Gordon MacLennan became his successor).
He was married to Elsie.
