Biography

Vasily Davydov was born into a peasant family on February 18, 1898 in the village of Dalnoe, Novo-Pokrovskaya volost, Gzhatsky district, Smolensk province (now Gagarinsky district of Smolensk region ).

In 1917 he joined the Red Guard , in 1918 in the RCP (b) .

In 1919-1920, as part of the 1st expeditionary unit of the 3rd Turkestan Rifle Division, he participated in the Civil War , first as an officer, and then head of the Information Department of the Turkestan Front .

In 1920-1921, the head of the sector of the Registerup PSh RVSR [2] .

In 1921-1922 he studied in the first year of the Moscow Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering [2] .

Then he served in the RU of the Red Army as: Head of the department of the intelligence department (January – November 1922), head of the sector of the 1st department, assistant to the head of the intelligence department (November 1922 - April 1924), assistant and deputy chief of the 2nd department of the Intelligence Agency (March 1930 - November 1934).

In 1929-1930 he studied at the evening courses of Improvement of higher and secondary command personnel under the RU of the Red Army.

In 1934-1936 he studied at the Oriental Department of the Military Academy. M.V. Frunze .

Since September 1936 he was seconded to the RU headquarters of the Red Army, where he served as assistant to the head of the Red Army Reconnaissance, Jan Karlovich Berzin .

Repressed 07/07/1938. Shot on 10/16/1941. Rehabilitated 08/20/1955.
