History

The 45th Infantry Division was stationed in Kiev from August 12, 1922. The division was formed in the Red Army and became famous during the Civil War in Russia 1918-1921.

On February 4, 1932, the commander of the 45th Volyn Red Banner SD issued an order to form the 45th mechanized corps from divisions of the division.

The corps was formed in the Ukrainian military district in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR. The 135th rifle and machine gun brigade was formed on the basis of the 135th Tiligullo-Berezansky rifle regiment of the division. By February 15, 1932, the brigade administration, the 1,2,3th and training tank battalions, special units were formed. Karev German Stepanovich was appointed commander of the brigade. In September 1935, the corps took part in district exercises - Kiev maneuvers.

On March 30, 1938, the corps and its 135th Special Forces Corps were relocated to the city of Berdichev, Zhytomyr Region, Ukrainian SSR.

On April 5, 1938, the Red Army General Staff issued a directive No. М1 / 00666 on renaming the 45th mechanized corps to the 25th tank corps. 135th SPbR was transferred from the territorial to the personnel system of organization and acquisition and was renamed the 1st motorized rifle-machine gun brigade .

January 21

On January 21, 1932, the headquarters of the Red Army by telegraphic order informed the commander of the 45th SD about the formation of the 45th mechanized corps from the division’s units. [one]

On February 4, the commander of the 45th Volyn Red Banner SD issued an order to form the Ukrainian SSR from the units of the division of the 45th mechanized corps in Kiev . [one]

The 135th rifle-machine gun brigade was formed on the basis of the 135th Tiligullo-Berezansky rifle regiment. [3]

The socialist competition for the deep study and preservation of military equipment and weapons firmly entered the process of military and political training of the district’s personnel. 1935 year :

On September 12-17, 1935, tactical exercises appeared in the okrug. They went down in the history of the Soviet Armed Forces under the name of the great Kiev maneuvers . They involved all kinds of troops: infantry, cavalry, airborne, artillery, armored, aviation units and formations. At these maneuvers, the breakthrough of the fortified defensive line by the rifle corps reinforced by tank battalions and artillery of the RGK, the development of the breakthrough by the cavalry corps, the use of a large airborne assault, the maneuver of the mechanized corps together with the cavalry division with the aim of encircling and destroying the breakthrough group in their rear were practiced. For the first time in Europe, the theory of deep combat and deep operation was tested. The 45th mechanized corps participated on the blue side, which broke through the enemy’s fortified defense line. In 1936, at the call of the Political Administration of the okrug, formations and units of the okrug were included in the Stakhanov movement . There were 450 tanks in rifle divisions and mechanized brigades. There were 56 aircraft in the squadrons. [four]

On maneuvers, the troops worked out the questions of offensive combat and the organization of mobile defense in wooded areas, the organization and conduct of the march of the cavalry corps in anticipation of a lively battle with the horse-mechanized group of the enemy, the breakthrough of the defensive line with overcoming the water barrier, conducting mobile defense and command and control. September 14th . Mechanized units fought in difficult conditions. In two days during the maneuver, they traveled up to 100 km. [four]

1937 :

On May 10, the posts of deputy commanders for political affairs were abolished, and the posts of military commissars were introduced. [four]
