The Namibian is the largest daily newspaper in Namibia [1] . Available in English and Oshivambo .
The Namibian was founded by journalist Gwen Lister in 1985 as a weekly newspaper. The newspaper was actively supported by the finances of philanthropists aimed at the independence of Namibia from South Africa . Its first issue appeared on August 30 of that year in the amount of 10,000 copies [2] . April 1, 1989 The Namibian became a daily newspaper. [3]
