The development of the street began in the XVIII century. Originally it consisted of two parts: Dolgaya and Kadetskaya streets (because of the noblecade of the Cadet Corps located here). On October 21, 1918, the executive committee of the city council decided to unite them and confer a new Karl Marx street.
