Biography

Born in 1960 in the city of Penza. Since 1980 he has been living and working in Moscow (married, two sons).

Education

In 1985 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University .

Career

  • From the beginning of 1987, Marochkin worked at the Moscow Creative Laboratory of Rock Music under the General Directorate of Culture of the Executive Committee of the Moscow City Council, and was the chief editor of the "SHIFT" magazine. In December 1988, the first issue of the newspaper "SHIFT-bill" [1] [2] .
  • From 1986 to 1991, Vladimir Marochkin led a music section in the Soviet-Bulgarian magazine Druzhba.
  • From 1989 to 1991, together with I.Vasilkov, he conducted the program “Evening Courier” on the radio station “ Youth ”.
  • In 1991-1992 he was the music editor of a number of TV programs on Russian television.
  • In 1992 he led a music column in the newspaper Kuranty.
  • In the 90s, Vladimir Marochkin published and edited a number of music and youth publications (the newspapers “Door to Rockenroll” and “Ruined Childhood”, magazines “Come on! Come on!” And “Russian rock”). Bibliography

One of the founders of the first Soviet rock encyclopedia "Rock music in the USSR" (1990, the publishing house "Book").

In 2001, the publishing house "Lean" under his editorship published the encyclopedia "Russian Rock" (reprinted by the All-Russian Association of Rockers in 2003).

On the anniversary of A. S. Pushkin in three issues of the journal “Youth” , Marochkin’s work The True Biography of Pushkin was published. In 2010, the book was reprinted by the publishing house Phoenix.

In the fall of 2003, the book “The Daily Life of a Russian Rock Musician” by Vladimir Marachkin was published in the publishing house “Young Guard”.

Since 2001, Vladimir Marochkin has been collaborating with the Special Radio Internet music portal: in 2006, the 5th anniversary of the portal published a gift format “Musical Anatomy of the Independent Generation”, which included Marochkin’s best articles published on “Special Radio” .

In 2006, the Publishing House “Public Communications” published a book by Vladimir Marachkin, written in collaboration with A. A. Ignatiev, “The Chronoscope of Russian Rock. 1953-2004 ", it was" one of the first attempts to fit the history of the national rock movement into the global context " [3] .

In 2007, the book “Knights of the Legion” was published, dedicated to the popular metropolitan heavy metal group “Legion”.
