McKenn, Owen

Owen McKann ( born June 26, 1907 , Woodstock , Cape of Good Hope , Cape Colony - March 26, 1994 , Cape Town , South Africa ) is the first South African cardinal . The titular bishop of Stettorio and the apostolic vicar of Cape Town from March 12, 1950 to January 11, 1951. The archbishop of Cape Town from January 11, 1951 to October 20, 1984. Cardinal priest from February 22, 1965, with the title of Church of Santa Prassede from February 25, 1965.
