Biastes truncatus (lat.) - a type of bee cuckoo from the genus Biastes of the family Apidae . Body length about 5-6 mm. The head , chest and abdomen are black, gently punctured, in females the abdomen is brownish-reddish. Body slightly pubescent. On the tergites of the abdomen are white felt spots. Abutments jagged. In males and females the antennae are 12-segmented. Front wing with 2 radio-medial cells. Kleptoparazity bees of the genus Dufourea ( Dufourea dentiventris and Dufourea inermis ), in which nests lay their eggs. Like other cuckoo bees do not have devices for pollination and collecting pollen (no baskets on the legs, modified hairs on the body, etc.) [1] . Southern Europe , Western Asia , the Caucasus , the Far East [2] . The species was first described in 1848 as part of the Nomada genus by the Finnish naturalist William Nülander [3] .
