Judson Harmon is an American Democrat politician , the 41st Attorney General of the United States , and the 45th Governor of Ohio .

Biography
Judson Harmon was born in Newtown, Ohio . In 1866 he graduated from the University of Denison, in 1869 the Law School of the University of Cincinnati , and in the same year was admitted to the bar. and was admitted to the bar in 1869. In 1876 he tried to run for the Ohio Senate, but failed. In 1878, he was elected judge of the Cincinnati Supreme Court. He resigned in 1887.
On June 8, 1895, President Grover Cleveland appointed Harmon to the vacant post of Attorney General of the United States . He is known for his phrase that "no provisions, principles and precedents of international law can impose responsibility or obligations on the United States ."
In 1908, Harmon was elected Governor of Ohio . Re-elected in 1910, defeating Warren Harding .
On February 22, 1927, Judson Harmon died in Cincinnati .
