The first women's team in Saransk was created at the end of 1987 under the Svetotekhnika Sports School, and already in 1988 took part in the first All-Russian football tournament among women's teams. The debut turned out to be successful, Saransk footballers took 2nd place, letting forward only Tekstilshchik from Ramenskoye, Moscow Region. In 1990, the first USSR Championship was held. The Saransk women's team “Wings of the Soviets” played in the first league of the USSR Championship, where they took only 11th place out of 12. In these years, the team was coached by N. Uchaikin, V. I. Ryabov, V. I. Guba

In 1991, Alexander Ivanovich Kurchavy, head coach, was appointed President of the Wings of the Soviets football team, Zamotaev Alexander Ivanovich. For 2 years, the team regularly occupied leading positions in the first league of the USSR Championship (5th place). However, then, experiencing a severe funding gap, the Wings of the Soviets were forced to cease to exist. Abandoned, many of the Saransk footballers joined the ranks of other Russian clubs (O. Soluyanova, E. Makarenko, T. Veselova, I. Orakov, D. Makienko, N. Kugubaev, O. Zarenin, Zh. Myadelko - the goalkeeper who was involved to performances for the USSR national team).

Only many years later, in 2006, on the initiative of the Head of the Republic, a team of the Republic was formed at the Start stadium. Alexander Alekseevich Kurchavy was again appointed head coach. In the seasons 2006, 2007 in the Championship of IFS “Volga Region” (second division) the team was 3rd. Great success came - in the 2008 season the team became the winner of the Volga Region International Championship, and in the 2009 season became the owner of the Volga Federal District Cup. In the final of the Championship of Russia among the teams of the second division, held in the village of Sukko, Krasnodar Territory in October 2009, the team took 3rd place and won the right to participate in the first division of the Championship of Russia. In the 2010 season, the Mordovia Saransk team took part in the first division of the Russian Championship. According to the results of the group stage, the team became one of the participants in the final tournament, which was held in Omsk. In the match for 3rd place, “Mordovia” outplayed Omsk “Irtysh” by penalty. And she climbed into the top division of the championship of Russia in the season 2011-2012.

In 2011-2014, “Mordovochka” performed in the top division of Russia .

Later, after losing professional status, the club played in the second division under the name “MGPI-Mordovochka” [1] .
