Biography
Born March 25, 1921 in the village of Tserovani , Mtskheta district , Georgian SSR in an Ossetian family. He participated in the Great Patriotic War. In 1948, he began to engage in wrestling under the leadership of Vakhtang Kukhianidze . From 1949 to 1958 he was a member of the USSR national team. Four times became the first at the USSR Sambo Championships. In 1951 he became the USSR champion in freestyle wrestling in Tbilisi , in 1950 in Tula a silver medalist, and in 1954 in Leningrad - a bronze medal.
He graduated from the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture in Tbilisi. At the end of his sports career, he worked as a trainer at Dynamo CA Tbilisi. He brought up many masters of sports, including the USSR champion and bronze medalist of the World Cup Sergey Gabaraev , the champion of the USSR and medalist of the World Cup Nikolay Muzashvili .
Tragically died in 1969 from electric shock .
