Sergei Ivanovich Zayashnikov (born October 19, 1964 , village of Kuli , Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky District ) is the President of the Russian League Muay Thai [1] , the author of books on martial arts, a television commentator, promoter, and one of the founders of Thai boxing in Russia [2] .

Biography
In 1986 he graduated from the Novosibirsk Electrotechnical Institute (Faculty of Radio Engineering).
In 1992, together with O. Terekhov , he founded the Muay Thai Russian League (RLMT) (from 1992 to 1993 - owner and sponsor, from 1993 to the present - President of the RLMT).
In 1994, he brought the team of the Russian League Muay Thai (4 athletes) to the first world championship according to the International Muay Thai Federation among amateurs (Chontoburi, Thailand). The national team was able to win gold, silver and bronze medals.
In 1995, together with S. Zhukov, on the basis of the Russian League, Muay Thai founded the All-Russian public organization “Thai Boxing Federation of Russia” (FTBR), where Zhukov became president, and S. Zayashnikov became vice president of FTBR and served until 2007.
From October 1996 to November 2009, he was the host of the first Thai boxing program in Russia [3] , which aired weekly on NTV Plus Sport .
In 2007, he organized a Russia – USA match [4] in Muay Thai among professionals in New York , where over the next three years he held a series of professional tournaments sponsored by WBL MUAY THAI.
In 2014, Forbes magazine published an article, “Rules of the battle,” in which Sergey Zayashnikov’s students talked about his training and sparring methodology [5] .
In 2015, the World Business Channel interviewed [6] . S. I. Zayashnikov, published in the program “PRO Sport. Essentially. " The interview tells about the history of Thai boxing in Russia.
In 2016, Kobo Writing Life published in electronic form the 5th edition of the Thai Boxing reference manual, which includes an extensive RLMT photo archive showing the key points of the 25-year development of Thai boxing in Russia [7] .
