Biography

Grandson of the merchant of the 2nd guild, confectioner L.A. Krakhmalnikov . Mother - Krakhmalnikova Sofya Lvovna (1895-1973).

He graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University (1940), then studied at the graduate school of Moscow State University (1941). In 1941-1942 - Dean of the Faculty of History of the Pedagogical Institute. T. Shevchenko in the city of Stalinabad . In 1942-1945 he served in the Red Army , political instructor .

In 1945-1951 - Head of the Political Department of the NKID of Uzbekistan. At the same time, in 1947-1956, he was the head of the Department of Oriental History and since 1951, he was dean of the Oriental Department of Central Asian State University .

Since 1956 in Moscow, he headed the department of international problems at the Institute of Oriental Studies (Institute of Asian Peoples) of the USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1965 he defended his doctoral dissertation "The struggle for the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Peninsula and the Red Sea at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries." Since 1976 - Head of the Sociology of International Relations, Advisor to the Institute of Sociology , Institute of Social and Political Studies (ISPI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences . In 1976-1984, he was a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR [1] .

He was a member of the Anti-Zionist Committee of the Soviet public .

He was killed on August 7, 2003 in Moscow [2] . The accused was subsequently acquitted by a jury [3] [4] .

The author of 27 monographs and more than 300 articles published in Russian and foreign press [5] .
