Career

Club

Samir Shaker started playing football professionally at the Salah al-Din club in Tikrit in 1977 . He later moved to the Al-Jaish Army Club, as he believed that playing in Baghdad would have a better chance of joining the national team [1] . Returning to Salah al-Din, he became the country's champion in the 1982/83 season [2] .

In 1986, he became an Al-Rashid footballer, was the team captain [2] , won 3 championship titles (in the seasons 1986/87, 1987/88 and 1988/88) [3] , and in the seasons 1986/87 and 1987 / 88 also won the Iraq Cup [4] . He completed his playing career in 1990 [1] .

Team

Samir Shaker played for the Iraqi national team from 1982 to 1988 [1] . The first major tournament in the national team for him was the Persian Gulf Cup-1982 [1] . At the 1986 World Cup he took part in the first two matches [5] , at the 1988 Olympics he played 1 match [6] .
