Caligula (lat.) Is a genus of butterflies from the peacock-eye family. On the territory of Russia lives 2 species [1] .

Description
Body valkovatoe, pubescent hairs. Antennae are bilobate and plumose. The front fenders are shallow, sometimes notched along the outer edge in front of the wing apex. On the front wing of the vein R, absent. The common stem R2 + 3 is approximately equal to the free branches of both R2 and R3. M2 is on a common stem with R5 + M ,. Ocular spots on the front wings oval or narrow-elliptical. The ocellular spots on the hind wings are rounded, much larger than on the front wings, with a narrow white crescent-shaped semiring from the inside [1] .
Caterpillars feed on various broadleaf trees and shrubs.
