Fernando del Valle ( Spanish: Fernando del Valle , real name Brian Skinner , born February 28, 1964 ) is an American opera tenor.

Origin
The name del Valle was taken by him in honor of his grandfather Fernando Melendez del Valle ( Spanish Fernando Meléndez del Valle ), who was also a tenor [1] [2] . Fernando is the great-great-grandson of Andrés del Valle ( Spanish Andrés del Valle ), who in turn was the president of El Salvador in 1876 and the direct descendant of Colonel Jose Maria San Martín , president of El Salvador (1854-56) and the founder of the city of Santa Tecla , El Salvador [3] [4] .
Biography
Fernando del Valle was born in New Orleans [5] . He graduated from Tulane University and Southern Methodist University , (Fellowship Haggar), Dallas , Texas , where he was awarded the professional Grant of the Dallas Opera House, Dallas Opera . Also from 1992 to 1993, he graduated from the Merola Opera Vocal Program at the San Francisco Opera House. He later won the Bel Canto competition in Chicago , and subsequently moved to Italy, where he continued his studies under the leadership of Carlo Bergonzi , and then Thomas Hayward, Thomas Hayward , and Elena Nikolaydi, Elena Nikolaidi .
The early years
Fernando played his first opera role, the role of the First Shepherd in the opera Venus and Adonis , John Blow , on the stage of Loyola University of New Orleans in 1981, when he was 17 years old. The following year, he received a tenor part in The Passion for Matthew by Johann Sebastian Bach, accompanied by the New Orleans Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, led by Andrew Massey, Andrew Massey . In 1986, he made his debut on the stage of Jordan Hall, Jordan Hall , in Boston with the work of JS Bach “Christmas Oratorio”. Thanks to this performance, he won the Boston Opera Ensemble Competition for Young Singers. The following spring, he performed on the stage of Alice Tully Hall, Alice Tully Hall , Lincoln Center , together with the Beethoven Society of New York, Beethoven Society of New York.
Later, he continued his career as a tenor and expanded his repertoire to include the Solemn Mass, Ludwig van Beethoven, Requiem Giuseppe Verdi, works of Benjamin Britten and Andrew Lloyd Webber . In 1993, the tenor made his debut on the Carnegie Hall stage with the work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart "The Great Mass", C minor. In 1994, on the stage of the Morton Myerson Symphony Center, The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, del Valle performed the solo part in The Messiah by Georg Friedrich Handel, accompanied by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra . In 1995, Fernando made his European debut, performing the “Ode of Joy” from Symphony No. 9, by Ludwig van Beethoven, accompanied by the Giuseppe Verdi Milan Symphony Orchestra , conducted by Alin Francis .
Del Valle made his opera debut in Europe in the role of don Jose in the opera Carmen , in the artistic production of Hugo de Ana, in the Teatro Comunale di Treviso Theater. The vocal conductor was Regina Reznik , the conductor of the orchestra was Peter Maag ( German: Peter Maag ). In 1996, Fernando played the role of Rodolfo in the Puccini Bohemia opera, staged at the Roman Opera House , conducted by Vladimir Yurovsky .
1997 - Present
In 1997, del Valle starred: Don Jose on the stage of Gran La Fenice in Venice , conducted by Issak Karabchevsky; Pinkerton at Madame Butterfly on the stage of the Palm Beach Opera, conducted by Anton Guadagno; and Faust on the stage of Colmar, Colmar, France. Del Valle made his debut on the German stage in 1998 as Rodolfo on the stage of the Frankfurt Old Opera . He also earned critical acclaim [6] [7] from the Wexford Festival, Wexford Festival , in Ireland for his role as Paolo in the opera Fosca Antonio Carlos Gomez. Thanks to this, Fernando followed a series of serious and important job offers, and since 1999, del Valle has performed all over the world, including performing on stages: the Old Opera in Frankfurt am Main, Alte Oper , Strasbourg (with Oda to Joy, L. V Beethoven, conducted by John Storgards, Maastricht , Deutsche Oper am Rhein ( German Deutsche Oper am Rhein ), Düsseldorf Concert Hall , Berlin German Opera , Teatro Carlo Felice, Bremen , Bergen , Costa , Munich "Gasteig", Helsinki Finnish National Opera, Belo Horizonte in Brazil and Festival HIFA in Harare , Zimbabwe , Malmö, Teatro Pertutselli di Bari, Turin, Baveno (Gala concert Festival Umberto Giordano ( ital. Umberto Giordano), festival orchestra «RAI di Torino»), National Theater Mannheim ( therein. National Theater Mannheim ), the Baden State Theater Karlsruhe ( German: Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe ), the State Theater Kassel, Staatstheater Kassel , Hamburg and the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden . For several years, del Valle worked at the invitation of Mark Albrecht [8] as a leading tenor at the State Theater of Darmstadt [9] [8] . His further career continued with performances in Israel, Korea, Catania, Sydney , Lisbon and Prague .
In 2003, the artist Ricarda Jacobi [10] [11] , the protégé of Oscar Kokoschka painted his portrait.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the city of Santa Tecla (1854-2004), Salvador, Mr. del Valle was invited by the former Ambassador of Salvador Ernesto Rivas Gallont for two concerts. As a sincere Catholic, the tenor asked to organize his first concert on September 23, in the name of St. Thekla of Iconium, the patron saint of the city, who gave him the name [12] .
