Biography
He was born in 1955 in Kiev in the family of a military man. The family often moved to different cities at the place of service of the father. In 1967, the family settled in the city of Smolensk . Here, Peter began to paint in the art studio of the Palace of Pioneers, and in 1969 he entered the Smolensk children's art school. After graduating from art school, he continued to engage in fine art at the Art and Graphic Department of the Smolensk State Pedagogical Institute . In 1978 he defended a graduation project on the topic: “Monument to the Komsomol-Minerals of the Demidov District” with excellent marks and praise from the state commission; Head of the diploma People's Artist of the RSFSR - sculptor Albert Sergeyevich Sergeyev .
From 1980 to 1986 He worked as an artist-restorer of sculpture in the Smolensk State Museum-Reserve . Currently, in addition to creative and pedagogical activities, the sculptor is engaged in the restoration of historical and artistic monuments. Since 1978, regularly participates in all All-Union and All-Russian exhibitions. Since 1989 Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR . Lecturer in sculpture at the design department of SSU . In 1998 and 2000 was the organizer of stone symposia in the city of Smolensk . In 2005, he was the artistic director of the creative group for cultural exchange between the twin cities of Smolensk and Hagen (Germany).
He was awarded a diploma of the Union of Artists of Russia (1999), a diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts (2004) and was awarded the State Scholarship of the Union of Artists of Russia in the field of fine arts (2005).
Creativity
Peter Fishman works in the genre of monumental and easel sculpture. His work is characterized by a masterful transfer of the individual characteristics of the model, careful modeling, and the use of the expressive capabilities of the natural texture of the material. P. A. Fishman is engaged in the development of architectural projects, artistic design, the creation of monumental sculptures and ensembles of monuments, the development of architectural and planning solutions for the reconstruction of the urban environment, the design and creation of unique interiors.
