Interesting Facts
Yu. L. Slezkin dedicated his book “Brusilov” to his son.
Here is how L. Y. Slezkina describes his peer and also the historian A. Nekrich :
Leva's mother was once an actress, and from his parents he inherited a very delicate nervous organization and emotional reaction. During the war, Leva Slezkin was a tank commander, and during a tank attack in a burning tank he lost one eye. Since then, he walked with a black bandage on his face, and this bandage went very much to his thin figure and slightly elongated face. In all his guise there was something romantic, and indeed he was a romantic by nature [3] .
